Italy: A Photo Diary of Rome, Cinque Terre, and Venice

Written by rachellamb

Italy is a country I would love to visit again. I found everything in Rome that I thought I was looking for in Paris. Good food, wine, coffee, culture, and romance. We stayed in Navona Palace Luxury Inn in the historic center, a stone’s throw away from Piazza Navona and Ponte Sant’Angelo. They had a great breakfast and opening the windows to the balcony was everything you want from a European vacation.

We love walking cities. I think it’s the best way to get to know them, and a step outside our hotel had so many options for food and drinks, coupled with picturesque alleyways. The red pepper red sauce in Rome is my favorite pizza sauce, and is delicious even without cheese and one of my most notable memories.

We were in Italy for a friend’s wedding. One of my favorite memories was eating dinner at L’Oca Bonda a short walk from our Air BnB, and both the atmosphere and food were wonderful. In this same neighborhood we got espresso to go for the wedding party, and because coffee to go is not Italian, we ended up taking it back to the wedding venue in a refilled wine bottle at the idea of the nearby coffee, which was a gloriously Italian improvised solution.

Here are some fun photos of our Italy Trip. I started a new Instagram and now that the pictures are down, I thought a photo diary would be a nice way to put the photos out into the world again. Also check out my “Dos and Don’ts of Transportation in Italy” blog for some practical transportation tips.
